2. Excellence in Outreach and Community engagement: 1 PhD and 1 MS that show dedication to bringing science to the general public through outreach events or spreading department visibility through community engagement events.
3. Outstanding Teaching Assistant Award: 1 PhD and 1 MS that exude a dedication and enthusiasm to their position teaching undergraduate students.
4. Exceptional Mentorship Award:  A graduate student (MS or PhD) that has dedicated significant time to helping mentor undergraduates or fellow new graduate students.

Subdiscipline-specific Awards (Each for Marine, Earth and Atmospheric Science discipline)

1. Marine/Earth/Atmospheric Field Award: A great field scientist (MS or PhD) that showed excellent growth when in the field
2. Up and coming Marine/Earth/Atmospheric  scientist: A student (MS or PhD) who has made significant progress in their research/discipline this year.
